Eligibility
In 2023 the Trust reviewed the criteria for persons wishing to live in the almshouses. Now to be accepted onto our application list, you must:
- Be at least 60 years of age
- Have a connection to the Westbury area
- Be capable of independent living – able to look after yourself and your home
- Be of modest income with only minimal savings/capital
- Have a housing need or be experiencing some other form of hardship
Each application is assessed on its merits by the Board of Trustees and acceptance is based on the individual’s circumstances at the time. All applications are considered without regards to religion, gender or ethnic origin.
